“I've already explained this.”
Instructions are repeated, but people still interpret the standard differently. What does done actually look like?
For owners, managers & supervisors
Clearer expectations. Stronger accountability. Better follow-through.
Horvath Leadership helps owners, managers, and supervisors address the recurring people problems that keep coming back — repeated instructions, communication breakdowns, avoidable mistakes, and weak follow-through.
A 20-minute conversation. Bring one problem that keeps showing up.
When the same problem comes back
You do not need another reminder to “hold people accountable.” You need to find where clarity, communication, support, or follow-through is breaking down.
Instructions are repeated, but people still interpret the standard differently. What does done actually look like?
Handoffs get missed. Assumptions replace conversations. The same mistake creates more work for the next person.
Ownership and deadlines are unclear. Follow-up falls on you—or the same few people—every time.
A practical leadership rhythm
Start with the facts. Teach the standard. Have the conversation. Then close the loop. This is the repeatable rhythm behind the 30-Day Team Reset.
Leadership starts with the leader. If it matters, teach it. If you expect it, model it. Then follow through.
Press Pause. Understand what is actually happening. Separate facts from assumptions.
Make the action, owner, timing, evidence, and exceptions clear.
Have the conversation. Ask for the other person's perspective. Do not punish useful information.
Define what the employee owns and what the leader owes in support.
Check back when you said you would. Close the loop.
Keep the standard. Change an approach that is not working.
Repeat the right behaviors. Stack small wins until improvement becomes visible.

Talk About Your TeamAbout Pat Horvath
Former College Head Baseball Coach | 15 Years Leading a Collegiate Program | Founder, Horvath Leadership
Leading a collegiate program meant leading teams, developing people, managing staff, recruiting, fundraising, building culture, navigating difficult conversations, and being responsible for results.
At one point in my coaching career, I was encouraged to create more distance between myself and my players. I listened. I thought the title required me to become a different kind of leader—more removed, less connected.
It did not fit who I was, and it did not help the team. I had confused authority with distance.
When I returned to a more engaged way of leading, I saw the team differently and they experienced me differently. I knew my people, listened, stayed present, and still held the standard.
I learned leadership through leading, making mistakes, adjusting, and leading again. This is the leadership playbook I wish somebody had given me.
Horvath Leadership takes lessons learned from years of leading teams and turns them into practical systems owners, managers, and supervisors can use with their own people. The focus is on understanding the problem, making expectations clear, and building a rhythm of accountability and follow-through.
Talk About Your Team“Authority does not require disconnection.”
Know your people. Ask better questions. Listen before deciding.
Care about people and make expectations clear. Teach what matters.
Provide the support you promise. Check back when you say you will.
Be willing to change how you lead when your approach gets in the way.
Putting the reset to work
Diagnose. Observe. Reset. Reinforce.
A conversation is the starting point for understanding the problem and whether direct support is a fit.
The framework is for owners, managers, and supervisors responsible for people and results. Start with a real issue: missed handoffs, recurring mistakes, unclear expectations, or commitments that need constant chasing.
Bring one problem that keeps showing up. We'll talk through what is happening, what you have tried, and where the breakdown may be. If we're a fit, I'll explain how I can help. If we're not, you'll still leave with a clearer next step.
Yes. Read the leadership ideas, then use the worksheets to plan, record, and review one real problem. The toolkit is designed to be written on and revisited.
A reset focuses on one meaningful problem and visible improvement. By reviewing the same signals, you can see what changed, what still needs work, and what to do next.

20-Minute Team Reset Conversation
Let's start with one real team problem. Tell me what's happening, what you've already tried, and where you want the team to improve.
We'll look for the breakdown and a practical next step. If direct support makes sense, we'll discuss how to put the reset to work with your team.
